Clinicians and students in conversation across a Sling Health Problem Day floor.

About

Started in a hospital. Built into a network.

Founded in 2013 at Washington University in St. Louis. Now a national programme running the same cycle across the country.

What Sling Health is

Not a club. Not a pitch competition.

Sling Health is a national healthcare innovation network — not a club, and not a pitch competition.

A clinical need is identified, an interdisciplinary team forms around it, the team designs and prototypes, experts pressure-test the work, and the strongest projects present at Demo Day — and keep going.

It began at Washington University in St. Louis as a student-run medtech incubator built around real clinical needs. The structure travelled well, because the underlying problem travels well: every teaching hospital in the country has clinicians with unmet needs, and every one of those campuses has engineers, designers and business students who would work on them if someone put them in the same room.

A packed Sling Health Demo Day auditorium with university pennants behind the stage.
